On Friday, September 27 security forces in Sudan opened fire on a crowd marching through Khartoum. The protest ignited with the people’s anger over inflated gas prices, which in turn have dramatically spiked the price of bread and milk. These protests are a long time coming, the people of northern Sudan finally choosing to speak out against the long-term rule of President Omar Al-Bashir.
